So, what’s been happening recently…

Wow,the past few months of life have been a whirlwind!

It seems having a baby around to look after 24 hours a day changes everything!! Learning how to juggle everything that is going on, while looking after Alyssa has presented lots of rethinking about how we do what we need to do, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Alyssa is 6 months old now and everyday she is growing bigger and more beautiful. Especially her laugh and smile. We love her so much and are so thankful to God that he gave her to us. She is such a blessing!
Recently she has started eating solid food rather than just milk and is doing a good job of regularly making a mess with her food!!

In July we had the chance to return to England for 5 weeks and spend time with family and friends and getting to introduce Alyssa to everyone. We loved catching up with everyone and we were sorry that we didn’t get to spend more time with so many people! There’s never as much time as we want! Living on the other side of the world, so far away from so many family and friends is honestly a daily struggle. But God knows our hearts and He is the one who satisfies every need of our soul’s. He is gracious, faithful and full of mercy anew everyday.

God has given us some wonderful friends here but one of the areas we’ve been seeking to find a larger community is with a local church family. Before Alyssa was born, and the few months after, we had been regularly attending a specific church here, but having Alyssa changed our priorities slightly and we were keen to find a church community with more young families involved. So over the last couple of months we’ve been spending time at various churches around the city and would value your prayers for wisdom and guidance as we decide which one to call home!

Since the last DTS finished, apart from spending time visiting England, and learning how to be parents(which may take the rest of our lives!!) we’ve been spending the majority of our weeks preparing for the next DTS, coming up in January 2018.

(On a sidenote, if you think you or anyone you may know would be interested in attending our next Justice DTS check out our DTS webpage – justicereachnz.org/dts)

This will be the first DTS we have led entirely – from all the prep work, leading staff training, orientation week, finding speakers for the justice topics and generally having overall responsibility for the running of the school from beginning to end. Although it feels like a huge responsibility and we are apprehensive about how it will go, we are also excited to see what God has in store for the school. Our heart is to see each student encounter God in new and transformative ways. There is so much more to Him than we could ever begin to comprehend, and yet He graciously invites us to come to Him, lay everything down and be amazed at who He is. Our aim is to facilitate an environment where He is glorified. Again we would greatly appreciate your prayers in this time of preparation.

We just want to say thanks again for each and everyone of you who supports us. We love you and are so grateful for you all!!
